The Trophy

The Walter Scott Prize for Historical Fiction is unique amongst book prizes in having a flagship master trophy which is on public display at Bowhill, the Duke of Buccleuch’s Borders home. This is an exquisite glass sculpture, created by the artist Colin Reid.

The first four winning authors have been presented with smaller versions of the flagship trophy, and future winners will receive a unique piece of glass cast in the Borders by Lindean Glass.  Shortlisted authors also receive a bottle of Jura single malt whisky, courtesy of Prize sponsors Jura, and are given the opportunity to stay in a writers retreat on the Scottish island of Jura.
